It would now be Kids' Athletics Month, a longer more consistent event. The app would be updated with more functionality and upgraded visuals. An opportunity to really make Kids' Athletics into a fun and meaningful
yearly event.
The approach
This would be a continuation of the previous years look and feel. This time, more footage would be used to bring a more personable angle to the campaign. Since the event would essentially be put into action for children by their parents or teachers, I decided to push the idea of a visual style that appeals to the nostalgia of the adults rather than directly appealing to children.
An initial approach using old home movie footage was attempted initially, but more modern footage was finally decided upon.
An upgrade from the Kids' Athletics 24 was to put more emphasis on dynamic music and sound design. With subtle sound effects being used for the logo and creative use of sound effects such as a record scratch heard in the hero video above.

The outcome
Ultimately, the campaign was a huge success with participation being extremely high across the globe. With over 300,000 children in over 120 countries taking part. To commemorate these fantastic statistics, I created another video to showcase not only the figures but also the children that took part. The project also show how much promise there was for the campaign, eventually leading to an evolution of the project for 2025 where the event would take place over a month.
Seeing how many children this campaign truly reached was hugely meaningful. Being able to use Kids' Athletics as a vehicle for change was an amazing experience. Seeing the palpable impact that my creative had on the young lives was heartwarming is something I am truly proud of.

Using avatar characters, I created a series of fun animations that help draw attention to a simple goal. Get kids moving! The project would involve the creation of motion, static and digital assets. An app would also be developed to allow for those participating to enter their contributions.
The approach
From the beginning, establishing a fun identity was key. The information required to inform the public of the 'World Mile' was fairly simple so making this as interesting as possible was key. To achieve this, I created a series of custom rigs for 'Avatar' characters.
The main aim was to allow children around the world to contribute to a shared goal by adding their distance to a global total. As such, making the characters run was the most common animation.
Because of the associated app, I also created a series of Lottie animations for use with the app, to allow for a more vibrant and dynamic experience.
